James B. Gray, DMD

James B. Gray, DMD - Orthodontist in RoswellFollowing a major in biology, a minor in chemistry, Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and his two-year residency in Orthodontics, Dr. Gray began his exclusive practice in 1981.

Dr. Gray established his practice in Roswell in 1983. His is truly a community practice of orthodontics and you may very well see Dr. Gray and his family about town, helping with community activities. Dr. Gray is proud of his long time association with the Roswell Rotary Club and the good deeds provided by this community service organization. He and his children, Blane & Victoria and wife, Angela, are involved in the local schools and culture. They are members of Roswell United Methodist Church and they, of course, reside in Roswell.

Dr. Gray is a member of many professional organizations, e.g. the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association and their constituent societies. He is proud to have been board certified by the American Board of Orthodontist (only ~25% of US orthodontists have received this certification). Dr. Gray has pioneered the use of mini-implants in orthodontics and has added to the orthodontic literature with articles published in the Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He has served as a consultant to the editors of both of these journals in the area of implants for orthodontic purposes. He has current lectures on Implant Uses in Orthodontics, on the Functional Occlusion and Orthodontics, and on Periodontally Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics. He is, also, a director of the Seattle Study Club of Atlanta.

Dr. Gray considers it a great privilege to have treated thousands of local residents and is particularly proud to have provided treatment for the families of over thirty local dentists.

Activities

Raising two children, Blane and Victoria, seems to be Dr. Gray’s most common activity at this time. He has a passion for bareboat sailing and has sailed in areas of Florida, the Caribbean, Chesapeake Bay and the Pacific Northwest. In his younger, more nimble days, tennis was a favorite recreation that led to 6 visits to ALTA city finals. Snow skiing is also one of his favorite activities and Steamboat Springs and Vail are two of his favorite locations. A good golf game still eludes him, though he can occasionally be seen hacking up the local courses. Braves baseball and Florida football are always a good topic of conversation with Dr. Gray, as is sport shooting. His unfulfilled side wishes he could play a music instrument, sculpture and be fluent in a foreign language.
